Community Sustaining Fund fall grant cycle ends November 15

The Community Sustaining Fund of Thurston County is pleased to announce its Fall 2013 grant cycle.  Grant applications are now available to groups and individuals interested in progressive community oriented activities. The deadline for submitting grant applications is Friday, November 15, 2013.

The Community Sustaining Fund (CSF) semiannual grant funding aims to create a more democratic, equitable, nonviolent and ecologically sound society. CSF tends to award funds for start-up costs of projects that might otherwise go unfunded, but with the expectation that these projects will become self sustaining. Grant funds are derived from contributing individuals and businesses.

For 24 years, the Community Sustaining Fund has been making micro grants to individuals and organizations that work to strengthen the fabric of our people, communities, and our environment in Thurston County through innovative projects and initiatives.

The organization is committed to the principles of consensus-based decision making, cultural diversity, community building, sustainability, and the creation of a more just and equitable world of ecological and economic balance and personal and social responsibility.

Applicants can locate grant criteria and application forms at the CSF website (www.oly-wa.us/csf) or by request at thurstoncsf@comcast.net
