Olympia’s Hidden Histories

Sat. October 7, 10:00-11:00 am –  Public launch of three new walking tours at the Olympia-Rafah Solidarity Mural (Capitol Way and State Ave.) Port Shipping and Trade: Rising from the Sediment – Port Militarization: “Whose Port? Olympia-Rafah Solidarity Mural

Sat. October 7, noon – 1 pm. Rededication of the mural by the Rachel Corrie Foundation and Art Forces’ Olympia-Rafah Solidarity Mural Project.  Artists, activists and community members will speak about the mural’s past, present and future. There will be a staffed table throughout Fall Arts Walk.

Orca Recovery Day 2023

Visioning and Art in the Forest

Sat. October 14, 1:00 – 3:30 pm. Sarah Folden shares her perspective on climate justice, as an indigenous person and member of the Cowlitz Tribe. She will offer a painting workshop respecting the cultural significance of salmon and their life-cycle, honoring art and its connection to place.  All workshops facilitated by Carrie Ziegler, Earth Art. Punk Rock Flea Market

Books, Brownies & Beans

Sat. October 28. 9:00 – 4:00 pm. Massive in-person book sale plus brownies, coffee and music. Proceeds will benefit Interfaith Works, ASHHO Cultural Community and OlyEcosystems. Women’s Liberation Book Club

Fri. October 20, 6 pm. Book club will be discussing Sister Outsider by Audre Lorde. “Her prose is incisive, unflinching and lyrical, reflecting struggle but offering messages of hope.”Meet at Orca Books,   315 5th Ave SE Olympia. Copies are available to pick up, or order online.


Headless Mumby Brewing – 5th Anniversary Party

Bridge Music Project

October 9 – November 27.  8-week in-person workshop in which young people 14-20 will learn to write and perform their own original songs. TOGETHER! Host Homes Program

Host Homes is a short-term housing response that matches students living on their own with hosts in the community. It provides proactive case management support to both students and hosts. Hosts make a big difference in a student’s life and form lifelong connections. Olympia Free Clinic

The free clinic offers general medical, mental health, psychiatric and reproductive and gender care to uninsured and underinsured adults at no cost to the patient.  To speak with someone about getting care, call 360-890-4074 or walk in to the clinic at 520 Lilly Rd NE, Bldg 3, from 5-7 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays.
