MAZIGAZI livestream benefit for Haki Farmers Collective!

October 3 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm PDT

MAZIGAZI will be performing live music, streaming live (via Facebook) on Saturday, October 3 @ 7PM! This show is a benefit for Haki Farmers Collective. Haki is exploring a partnership with GRuB (Garden-Raised Bounty). More information about the collective, the band and how to donate below:
Haki Farmers Collective seeks to bolster and reincorporate traditional and inherently sustainable farming knowledge that is present in our migrant and indigenous communities. By holding close decolonization frameworks Haki seeks to encourage POC, including indigenous peoples and the black decendents of American slavery, to reclaim life giving knowledge of sustainable farming and plant medicine creation.
MAZIGAZI – Mercy Kariuki-McGee fronts MAZIGAZI, an African-fusion band from Olympia which started with only family, and has now grown to a full ensemble band. Inspired by African tribal rhythms and musical traditions, our music focuses on cultural experience, environment, and emphasis message of co-existence in a world where differences tend to pull us apart. Though Mazigazi is an African based band, we draw our influence from a wide range of genres from many different places. With the unique and magical blend of Swahili, a widely spoken language in East and Central Africa along with English, our music connects with our fans while sending a strong message.
