Lakewood PD Protest for Police Accountability: BODY CAMS, Justice for Said

July 23 @ 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm PDT

UPDATE ON THE TIME: Starting at 4:30 pm Thursday July 23, 2020
at Lakewood Police Dept.
Lakewood/Tacoma/Pierce community
Come take action and peacefully protest for police accountability and reform in the continued fight for the lives taken at the hands of police officers. It’s the police departments duty to protect and serve and keep PEACE in the community. It is not their job nor should it be allowed for police to use their power to be judge, jury and executioner. STOP KILLING US. STOP BRUTALIZING US.
Please practice social distancing and wear a mask to the event. Some mask will be provided if needed.
We Demand:
*Justice for Said Joquin
*Bennie Branch
*Manuel Ellis
*Leonard Thomas
*Daniel Covarrubias
*Shawn Hairston
*Jackie Salyers and those whose story we don’t know.
* ZERO deaths in Pierce County by police officers.
*For body cameras to hold officers accountable while they serve our communities
*For officers that have caused wrongful deaths, continued misconduct and abuse of power to be fired, arrested and charged
*For i940 de-escalation: for better police practices to be implemented without stalling.
*For full non-bias independent investigations when police shootings occur.
*For transparency, access and data kept on officers disciplinary actions and available to the public for free.
*For an end to racial profiling in policing-reformed training and hiring processes.
We stand in solidarity with BIPOC, Latinx, LBGTQAI+ , #BlackLivesMatter
