How WIP is supported.  While WIP depends on volunteers, there are some essential expenses that we must pay with funds from advertisers, subscribers and donors.  

To pay for printing and production costs for 3000 copies of the paper at 16 pages, we need to raise about $400 each month beyond the revenue we receive from our long-term advertiser/supporters.  

To be able to produce a 20-page paper, and to upgrade to a better quality of paper would cost another $200 per month.  

Last year’s contributions.  In 2017, donations from individuals plus subscriptions brought in about $1200.  A grant from the Workers’ Defense Fund covered some of our monthly printing and production shortfall, and allowed for work to upgrade the Works in Progress website.

In addition, and importantly, nearly everyone involved in producing and distributing WIP volunteers their time.  Those same volunteers contribute to our financial viability by covering their own expenses for everything from gas for distributing the paper to a host of miscellaneous charges.

And, if you can’t volunteer, please donate!  Contributions to Works in Progress are tax-deductible under our fiscal sponsorship by Media Island International, which is a 501c-3 nonprofit organization registered with the IRS.  To claim a deductible contribution, t the tax ID number is 91-1514384. Or you can donate with a check maded out to Works in Progres, and send it to P.O. Box 295, Olympia, WA 98507. We will provide you with our verification letter upon request to our email address:  olywip@gmail.com or to our mailbox (noted above).
