Share your ad with thousands of readers for months at a time

Works in Progress covers a variety of local and regional issues.  3,000 copies of Works in Progress are distributed free each month to locations in Thurston, Lewis, Mason and Grays Harbor Counties.  Readers pick up copies at newspaper boxes, coffee shops, libraries, local businesses, and schools.  Subscribers receive papers delivered to their homes. WIP also reaches readers via our website,

Advertising Rates:  Advertising rates are $10 per column inch. We offer a discount of 20% for ads 10 column inches or larger, that are scheduled to appear for at least 3 months. Special discounts may be negotiated for nonprofits and start-ups.

Print ads will also be shown online at For long-term advertisers, there is a running ticker that encourages readers’ support for these businesses.

Regular rates for popular ad sizes are shown below:

● Business card ad (3” x 1”): $30
● Vertical business card ad (one column x 3”): $30
● Vertical business card for 6 consecutive months: $24/month paid in advance
● 5” square ad (2 columns wide = 10 column inches total): $100
With discount for quarterly ads: $80/month
● Quarter page ad: $160
● Half page ad: $250
● Full page ad: by arrangement

Advertising Deadlines: Ad creative for each issue is due by the 20th of each month.
